The application period for the rescuer qualification, which will start in August 2025, was open from November 29, 2024, to January 10, 2025. During this time, applicants could book an appointment for the Cooper's running test. Appointments for health checks and muscle fitness tests were already available for booking.
- Rescuer Qualification
The rescuer course takes 1.5 years to complete. The qualification gives access to posts as a rescuer or firefighter nationwide, and graduates have very good employment prospects.
- Studying at Helsinki Rescue School
Helsinki Rescue School was founded in the spring of 1972 and is the oldest rescue school in Finland. It graduates rescue professionals who are able to act as professionals in the fields of accident prevention, multifaceted rescue tasks, emergency care and ambulance services.

Helsinki Rescue School is a small, community-based school where instructors and students work closely together, with ample resources to meet individual needs. The school also offers excellent opportunities for independent training and exercise, including a well-equipped gym for physical activity. Additionally, there are good opportunities for self-guided exercise and practice outside of school hours.
